Once the documents have been received, they are then seperated from fasteners, staples, corners are straightened and any smaller items are taped to seperate sheet of paper. These are all crucial steps for a clean and great quality image.

The next step in preparing your documents for scanning is determining the index fields, which will help you in finding documents by keywords. For example, a doctors office may need to index patient name, date of birth, medical record number or social security number.

The last step in preparartion of scanning documents, will be choosing your software platform or archive storage system. This is usually based on the customers preference as well as the technology requirements of the business.
